The HPV and Anal Cancer Foundation (www.analcancerfoundation.org) is an international public service organisation dedicated to reducing suffering of and ensuring quality care for those affected by anal cancer and the virus that causes the majority of cases, human papillomavirus (HPV). Our website offers a range of help and support facilities from the latest in HPV research to medical and patient support. One of our main focuses as a foundation is to campaign for world wide gender neutral vaccination against harmful strains of HPV. The current policy relies on herd immunity to protect people from HPV. The current premise is if all girls are vaccinated, then by virtue of herd immunity all boys will also be protected. This is not effective and will leave vast amounts of young boys vulnerable to preventable HPV. The foundation is passionately working towards eradicating the effect of HPV and HPV related cancers.
